The enhanced HW configuration (10 core CPU and GPU) are available and provides RAM options up to 32 GB, and two external displays. However, the option to configure the home button from a nano-texture glass and multi-display are of the higher end only.

Following the general directions of sustainability in Apple, the new iMac features completely paper-based packaging, a tendency Apple strives to make all its packages free of plastic by the next year.

Apple has also rearranged its desktop accessories to boast of new USB-C ports instead of the old lightning. The new Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, and the Magic Mouse come in colors that match the appearance of a new iMac.

Beginning on November 8, Apple will sell a new 2024 M4 iMac for $1,299 in its base model configuration, including an eight-core CPU and an eight-core GPU, along with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.
